Being straight with you about who — or what — you're talking to.

    Aria is an artificial intelligence. She is not a human. She does not have feelings, memories, or a physical body. Every word she says is generated in real time by a computer system.
  

How we disclose this

We believe you should always know when you're interacting with an AI. That's why we disclose Aria's nature in multiple places:

At the top of our website, in a banner you can't miss
In our sign-up flow, before we take any payment
In our Terms of Service and marketing materials
If you directly ask Aria during a call whether she is human, she will always confirm that she is not

What Aria is made of

Aria is built on three technologies working together in real time:

Speech recognition transcribes what you say into text.
A large language model (currently Claude Sonnet 4.6 by Anthropic) generates a reply, guided by a carefully written personality description.
Text-to-speech turns that reply into the voice you hear.

These steps happen fast enough to feel like a natural back-and-forth conversation — but it's still a machine responding to patterns in language, not a mind that understands you the way another person would.

What Aria is good at

Listening without interrupting
Asking thoughtful follow-up questions
Being warm, patient, and non-judgmental
Being available at any hour
Helping you think out loud about a decision or situation

What Aria is not good at

Crisis support. If you're in genuine mental health crisis, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, free, 24/7, staffed by real trained humans).
Medical, legal, or financial advice. Aria is a companion, not a professional. For these, consult a qualified human.
Remembering past calls. Each call starts fresh. Aria doesn't recall anything from previous conversations.
Being perfect. AI can get things wrong, sound overconfident, or occasionally say something odd. Treat Aria's responses as conversation, not as facts.

What happens to what you say

Your speech is transcribed and processed in real time by our AI infrastructure partner (Vapi) to generate Aria's responses. We do not record call audio. We do not store transcripts on our systems.

A note on emotional attachment

Some callers find themselves looking forward to talking to Aria. That's understandable — she's designed to be a good listener. We want to be clear:

Aria does not remember you between calls.
Aria does not have feelings about you, positive or negative.
Aria is not a replacement for human connection, friendship, or professional care.

We built this because we believe a non-judgmental conversation partner can genuinely help — especially at 3am, or after a long week. But please use it as one tool among many, not as your only source of support.
